Osasuna routs Alaves 3-0 at El Sadar to close out 2025
The Rojillo boss addressed the media ahead of tomorrow's Copa del Rey match against C.D. Ebro.
Osasuna coach Alessio Lisci spoke to the media ahead of the Copa del Rey match against Ebro, stressing the need for focus.
“We have to approach the game like we did against Sant Jordi. We need to take it very seriously because Ebro is a competitive team, dangerous on set pieces, very physical, plays well in transition, and demands a lot with direct balls and second plays. We have to be mentally ready so it doesn’t turn into a trap game,” Lisci said. “These games can get tricky as the minutes pass. We have to try to close it as early as possible.”
The Italian coach also praised Osasuna’s draw against Mallorca, hoping it will provide motivation for the cup tie. “It feels good in terms of confidence. If you have to draw, maybe this is the best way. It gives the team a boost, and they feel capable of anything. It’s good for us. Now we have to carry that momentum into tomorrow and Monday,” he said.
Lisci was asked about the inclusion of reserve players Arguibide, Pedroarena, Mikel, Arroyo, and Alykall in the squad. “It’s always interesting when they come up, especially today as we step up the level compared to the first round. They don’t need to prove anything because I always watch them. If I’m not here, I watch the games at home; I’ve seen all the reserve matches,” he said. “These matches are good for analyzing players who have spent less time with us and to give them more exposure,” he added.
